# PeerLink overview

PeerLink is a private home for the internal tools people build with AI coding assistants. A user describes a tool to their assistant, the assistant builds it from the PeerLink template and publishes it, and PeerLink runs it at its own private URL behind the company's single sign-on. Only the people and groups the user invites can open it.

## Who it's for

- **People who build with AI** (operations, sales, HR, finance, marketing and so on) who have made a useful tool and want colleagues to use it, without learning about hosting, logins or security.
- **IT and security teams** who want those tools to run somewhere governed instead of on laptops or random websites.

## What it does

- **Publishes in one step.** The assistant runs a single publish command or tool. The app gets its own address, `<name>.<app-domain>`.
- **Sign-in included.** People sign in with the work account their company already manages (any OpenID Connect identity provider). Apps never handle passwords.
- **Invite-only by default.** A new app is reachable by nobody until its owner grants access to people (by email) or groups.
- **Guests.** People outside the company can be invited to specific apps and see nothing else.
- **Instant revocation.** Removing someone's access takes effect on their next request.
- **Isolation.** Each app runs separately on its own hostname; one app cannot read another's data.
- **Persistent data.** Apps can declare a SQLite database, which the platform restores on start and continuously backs up to cloud storage.
- **Pre-publish checks.** A "doctor" check validates the app against platform rules locally and again on the server.
- **Audit trail.** Every change to who can use what is recorded, and platform admins can review sign-in attempts.
- **Runs in your own cloud.** Each organisation runs its own PeerLink deployment in its own Google Cloud project.

## How people use it

1. Describe the tool to an AI assistant.
2. Ask the assistant to publish it to PeerLink; it returns a link.
3. Choose who can open it.
4. Ask for changes and publish again; the link stays the same.

## Status

PeerLink is in early access. There is no public self-serve sign-up or published pricing; organisations get set up by contacting the team.
